Are the park entrance fees included in the safari cost?

While many of our safari packages for the Maasai Mara National Reserve include the entry fees, please note some packages may exclude them. We strongly advise confirming with us in advance. For non-residents, adult entry fees range from US $100 (Jan–Jun) to US $200 (Jul–Dec).

What currency or payment method is required for the park fees?

The park authority accepts US Dollars cash or Kenyan Shillings at most gates. Note: if entering via the western section (e.g., the Mara Triangle Conservancy), sometimes only cash-less (Visa/Mastercard or M-Pesa) payments are accepted.

What are the operating hours of the reserve and validity of the ticket?

The reserve allows entrance from around 06:00 to 18:00 under standard access. As of recent updates, the ticket validity has shifted to a 12-hour period in some cases (especially for day-entrants). Exiting after the allowed time may incur an additional day’s fee.

Does the “single entry ticket” cover overnight stays or departure the next day?

With the current structure, a ticket is valid for the designated period (commonly 12 hours or up to 18:00). If you stay past that or depart after the cut-off (for example after 10:00 am the next day), the authority may require a new ticket for a fresh entry period.
