Places You’ll See :

Masai Mara is Kenya’s crown jewel 1,510 km² of golden plains alive with life. Every year, between July and October, more than two million wildebeest and zebra thunder across the Mara River in a spectacle that defines Africa’s wild heart. But the Mara never sleeps; lions stalk the savannahs year-round, leopards rule the acacia belts, and elephants move gracefully through open grasslands.

Expect predator sightings almost daily, luxury camps along the river, and sunrise balloon rides that redefine “breathtaking.” Pair your visit with neighbouring conservancies like Olare Motorogi or Naboisho for exclusivity and sustainability.

1. Masai Mara National Reserve

Amboseli delivers cinematic beauty: herds of giant elephants marching against Africa’s tallest mountain, Kilimanjaro. Located in southern Kenya near the Tanzanian border, this 392 km² park is world-renowned for its up-close elephant encounters, open landscapes, and Maasai community culture.

Dry lakebeds, seasonal swamps and acacia woodlands create a habitat mosaic that attracts lions, cheetahs, giraffes and 400+ bird species. From Observation Hill, watch the sun dip behind Kilimanjaro while elephants graze below pure poetry.

Best visited year-round, Amboseli’s short grass and open plains make photography effortless. It’s only 4.5 hours from Nairobi, making it a top pick for short safaris and high-impact itineraries.
