Booking & Refund Policy

Overview

At KenyaOnABudgetSafaris, we value transparency and fairness. This Booking & Refund Policy explains how reservations are confirmed, how payments are handled, and the conditions under which refunds are issued.

Booking Confirmation

  • All bookings must be requested in writing (email, WhatsApp, or booking form).
  • A booking is only confirmed once a deposit or full payment is received and written confirmation has been sent by our team.
  • Until confirmed, services and availability cannot be guaranteed.

Payments

  • Deposits: Required to secure services (amount varies per trip).
  • Balance: Full payment must be received before the start of the trip, as specified in your invoice.
  • Payment Methods: Stripe (card payments), Safaricom M-Pesa, or direct bank transfer.
  • Currency: Payments are accepted in KES or GBP, as indicated at the time of booking.

Cancellations by Client

If you need to cancel a confirmed booking:

  • 60+ days before travel → 80% refund of total paid.
  • 30–59 days before travel → 50% refund of total paid.
  • Less than 30 days before travel → non-refundable.
  • No-shows or last-minute cancellations → non-refundable.

Some services (e.g., flights, park fees, special permits) may be non-refundable regardless of timing. This will be communicated at the time of booking.

Cancellations by KenyaOnABudgetSafaris

  • If we cancel due to reasons within our control, you will receive a full refund of payments made.
  • If cancellation is due to external factors (e.g., force majeure, supplier default, natural disaster, or government action), we will assist with rebooking or refunds in line with supplier policies.

Refund Processing

  • Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 14 business days of approval.
  • Transaction fees (e.g., bank charges, M-Pesa fees, Stripe processing fees) may be deducted from the refund.
  • Amendments & Rescheduling
  • Requests to amend or reschedule are subject to availability and supplier approval.
  • Additional costs may apply if new dates fall under higher seasonal rates or incur supplier penalties.

Client Responsibility

  • Ensure you have valid travel documents, insurance, and required vaccinations.
  • Failure to meet these requirements does not entitle you to a refund.
